2014 Chile & Frijoles Festival

It’s about that time of year when we will start to smell the savory aroma of roasting chilies throughout OUR city!  After living in 5 different states and too many cities to list.  I can tell you that you won’t see any Walmart’s, farmer’s markets, or festivals roasting green chile anywhere else around the country (well, with the exception of Hatch Chilies in New Mexico).  We have something so special and unique.   And the annual Chile & Frijoles Festival Presented by Loaf N’ Jug‚ is just around the corner which is held this year on September 19-21, 2014.

The event features local musicians‚ children activities, crafts, arts‚ cooking competitions and chilies‚ chilies‚ chilies.   Last year local farmers sold as much as $50,000 worth of peppers.   With an annual attendance hitting 100,000, the festival found itself in the national spotlight last year when it was featured on Livability Top 10 Food Festivals and was #2 on the list.

ADMISSION: $3 daily single admission, $10 daily family 4-pack, or $25 unlimited access family 4-pack (must be purchased in advance by September 12, 2014).
