Celebrate Earth Day

Take a hike

This Sunday, saunter along the trails of the park, enjoying the emerging spring as we celebrate Earth Day. The official Earth Day is actually April 22nd, but every day is really Earth Day.

Dress in layers and wear good hiking shoes. Also, bring along plenty of water, and maybe a snack on these moderately strenuous hikes that are educational and fun. This hike starts at 10;00 am. Hikes are free for members and $5 for non-members.

Most hikes last from two to three hours and are appropriate for adults and children over 12

Mountain Park Environmental CenterThe guide for this hike is Ranger Dave. Dave Van Manen is the founder and Executive Director of the Mountain Park Environmental Center. Ranger Dave has been working in the field of education, with both children and adults, for nearly forty years. Dave has been a resident of the town of Beulah for 35+ years, where he and his wife Helene raised their two children and now spend much time with their grandchildren.  He is an avid hiker and can often be found hiking the trails of Pueblo Mountain Park and beyond.
