Flash Freeze Meat

“My” Wikipedia of flash freezing is simply freezing a portion of something, so it doesn’t stick to the other portions. Have you wanted to defrost only a couple of steaks, but package has 3 or 4 inside? And more times than we would like to admit it, we end up cooking the whole package and throwing the extra’s in the trash after they sit in the refrigerator for a few days. 🙁  We all have done it.   This method of flash freezing is a great way to unfreeze only what you will need.  Just like a bag of frozen chicken breast you buy from the store, you only take out what you will use.  It’s super easy and not only save you time, but money too (no more waste)!

1.  Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.

2.  Place your meat on the wax paper of your cookie sheet, NOT touching any of the other meat.photo 1

3.  Put your cookie sheet into the freezer for about 30-45 minutes, until it’s good and frozen.

photo 24.  Remove the meat from the wax paper and place in a freezer bag or container.

5.  You can do this with all types of meat (or foods)  I have done with fish, chicken, shrimp, veggies, and even dough.

Enjoy!  You can even place steaks and hamburgers directly onto the grill without unthawing first!
