The Liberty Point 5K Run/Walk
This event starts at 6:30 am. Run or walk south to Liberty Point and circle back to the start location — intersection of Joe Martinez and Purcell boulevards. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go to United Way programs.
Wet Parade and Festival
Starting at 10 a.m., the parade will transform Joe Martinez into a winding stream of water cannons, squirt guns and beds of trucks doubling as water holding tanks.
HINT: A section along the beginning of the parade will be a “dry zone”. Parade goers also may wish to bring along a canopy or plastic as a shield.
After the parade, the festival will be held at Civic Center Park until 3 p.m. Family-friendly features include a car show, children’s games, vendors, food, drink, music and more.
AND
The Oasis Christian Church hosts a pre-fireworks event, a free Family Fun Fest and Concert featuring headliner country singer/songwriter Lucas Hoge.
The concert will take place in the parking lot at 347 Del Norte. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the concert will start at 7 p.m. There will be free games for children.
Fireworks
At sundown, the Pueblo West Fire Department will launch fireworks that should be possible to see throughout Pueblo West.
