Ice Skating Classes

Registration is now open for group classes at the Pueblo Ice Arena focus on the foundations of ice skating. The curriculum guides skaters through the United States Figure Skating Association’s Basic Skills Program.
They have a 10-to-1 ratio of students to instructors (7-to-1 in the Tot levels) in their classes.
All classes are 30 min. Students must be registered by the Monday before session starts.

Tots Classes (Ages 4-5)

Tots classes are a half-hour long and meet once a week. Basic elements such as sitting down on the ice and standing up, marching in place, gliding, and forward and backward skating are taught. This level is designed to help preschool age children develop preliminary coordination and strength to maneuver on the ice.

Basic Skills is an ice skating program that is fun, challenging, and rewarding. Sessions are on Wednesday nights and run 8 weeks long. Class time depends on skater’s level. Basic 1 is a half-hour class designed to teach foundational skills to beginner skaters. Classes are focused on getting students to move on their own on the ice surface, gliding, skating backward, and stopping. Etc.

Free Skate Classes (Levels 1-6)

Freestyle classes consists of levels 1-6 where skaters move on to advanced figure skating skills including spins, jumps, footwork, and edges. Elements focus on control and balance, as well as proper technique for advanced moves. This is the point where skaters can choose whether to pursue a recreational or competitive approach to the sport of figure skating.

Adult Class (Ages 16 & Up)

The adult curriculum is designed for the beginner adult skater. Classes focus on improving balance and coordination while learning proper skating techniques. Divided into 4 levels, adult skaters will progress at an individual rate while being challenged and motivated. This is an exciting class for people who look to skating as an enjoyable way to pursue a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Fee: New skaters $80, returning students $70.

To receive returning discount, students must register and pay last day of previous class.

  • Tots 1 and Tots 2 & 3 is for 4 and 5 year old,  Basic 1 is for first time skaters 6 years and up. All other classes are by skill level you must test and pass Basic 1 to go to Basic 2 and so on. If unsure of previous level skating director will move you to appropriate class.

Families will skate with the Easter Bunny at Pueblo Ice Arena. Ice skate in this 39,800-square-foot facility that features a National Hockey League-sized rink, concession stand, and spectator seating capacity for 850-plus participants.

Tickets are $2 per skater.

Ice Skate to Lazer Lights


Ice skate to a light show, accompanied by fog and music. What makes these shows so special? Imagine 1000+ LED and laser lights. Imagine those lights are sound-sensitive and react according to the sounds played. Imagine you are there.

Skaters of any experience and any age are welcome.

You can skate to these laser light shows any Friday between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm at the Pueblo Ice Arena.

Price: $4 (students), $5 (adults). Prices include skates.
